Bee Discrimination Case Taken By Miami Attorney
A summer cruise vacation in Florida for a foreign family was prematurely cut short because they allegedly brought aboard dozens of live bees, ending their dream of having a great time cruising off the Florida Coast and into the Caribbean, departing out of Miami Port. The family then hired a Miami Attorney to fight for their legal rights.
The foreign family of six members was of Iranian descent and heritage; the family hired a Miami Lawyer who practices in federal court in Florida to represent them in a discrimination case filed against the defendants. Based out of Port of Miami Florida, Carnival Cruise Lines are the defendants in this case.
The family, some of whom live in the state of New Jersey, begain their short-lived cruise ship journey by boarding the cruise ship “Carnival Victory” for their Caribbean cruise. However, before the Carnival Victory could leave the Miami Port, the foreign family experienced a very embarrassing situation while boarding the cruise ship liner. Similarly to terminal boarding areas for buses and trains, not to mention American Airports, Cruise lines are required to adhere to a strict set of procedures and guidelines when allowing travelers and passengers to board commercial transportation and travel vehicles. In this Miami Federal Court case, filed by a Florida Law Firm, the court records show that employees of Carnival Cruise Line and ship security spotted and discovered nearly 200 live bees in numerous bottles in their luggage. The foreign family explained to the employees of the Miami-based cruise line, that they brought the bees on board so they could treat two adult children who have the very serious disease of multiple sclerosis.
Without bees in tow, the very next day in Miami, the foreign family again purchased tickets for Carnival’s cruise ship, “Imagination.” However, to be clear, the family never left Port of Miami. According to records from the ensuing Florida federal lawsuit, a Miami port security official stated that he personally discovered a suspicious container of pressurized carbon dioxide in their luggage. According to the family’s assertion, the Miami port security planted the carbon dioxide container to make them appear to be terrorists.
The Miami law firm currently handling the family’s case explained the family’s removal from the second Carnival Cruise Lines cruise ship in two days was discriminatory. The Miami attorney stated the family then went back home after being hurt and humiliated by their abrupt removal from the cruise ships and their Florida experience and attempt for a family vacation on a cruse liner.
The response to the lawsuit, filed by the Iranian family’s Miami Law Firm in federal court, by a spokesperson for Carnival Cruise Lines said the family’s claims asserting discrimination committed by the cruise lines were completely without merit, as this case flows through the legal system.
